About Us

What are we about?

Our goal is to help as many people as we can with their goal to a healthier life. Making activities of daily living easier is really the goal of all fitness and nutrition programs. That may mean losing weight or building muscle, but ultimately it is making life less painful. 

Why Aptitude?

Aptitude means having a natural ability to do something and everyone involved with Aptitude Wellness has been given a gift to help people. It's also a play on words, because an archaic definition of aptitude is fitness.  It was the fitness or the ability for a something to fit in, but in our case we are referring to fitness as exercise.

Owner and consultant: Joe Nicholls

Education: BS in exercise and sports science with a minor in business from the University of Utah

Certification: Personal training certification from American College of Sports Medicine, one of the top organizations in our industry

More personal side: I love my family and friends. Doing things with my family is tops on my list of activities. Those things include camping, amusement parks, going to the park in the evenings, and many more. I played basketball in high school and have continued to follow and play the sport, although golf has become another favorite activity. I have lived in Utah almost my entire life, with the exception of 6 months in Pennsylvania, and I love it here. There is so much to do in the summers and the mountains surround you, plus the golf is pretty cheap during the season!
